Travel to Duluth Minnesota for the Tall Ships Festival on Lake Superior

Three Tall Ships sailed under Duluth’s Aerial Lift Bridge in 2008 and it was the biggest event Duluth Minnesota ever hosted. On Wednesday, July 28, 2010 the Tall Ships will begin arriving in Duluth’s harbor and the festival will last through Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010.

On Thursday, July 29th, there will be the official parade of sail when eight tall ships will pass under the Aerial Lift Bridge with an armada of local boaters. The UMD School of Fine Arts will perform the rousing musical Pirates of Penzance next to Lake Superior and on a beautiful summer evening in Bayfront Festival Park. Friday begins the Tall Ship Festival of musical entertainment, food and merchandise vendors, music, entertainment, ship tours and day sails.

Plan now to travel to Duluth and stay at The Firelight Inn on Oregon Creek Duluth Bed and Breakfast celebrating 100 years of history in 2010. Visit our website for all the details of our monthly offers and special events. We hope to see you on your next trip to Duluth!

  1. These Tall Ship events are always worth a visit especially with the family. Kids just love the adventure but from past experience be prepared for large queues – so arrive early
