A Tony Award and Pulitzer prize winning musical, Rent integrates dance, pop, rock and roll, R&B, and salsa to tell the emotional saga of a community of impoverished young artists. Set in New York’s East Village in the thriving days of Bohemian Alphabet City, the story follows the play’s colorful characters as they live and love, fight, and celebrate life, while they struggle to survive and create their own moments of glory. A rock opera for a new generation, like Hair was in the 60’s, Rent reverberates with joyful energy and an affirmation that the “seasons of love” are all there is with “no day but today.”
“Rent” will be performed at The Duluth Playhouse Theatre, 506 West Michigan Street in Duluth, Minnesota April 8-25, 2010.
