The Duluth International Airport is the site of this weekend’s air show but you can enjoy the Thunderbirds, Japanese Zero’s and The Black Daggers for free when you pick a spot along highway 53. And while you plan to be in Duluth, reserve a suite for a little romance at The Firelight Inn on Oregon Creek Duluth Bed and Breakfast. The planes often fly out over Lake Superior during their manuevers and can be viewed from the lake walk or the yard at The Firelight Inn. The sound of the air show is awesome anywhere in Duluth!

The largest air show in Minnesota returns to the Duluth International Airport July 17-18, 2010. The Duluth Air Show will be featuring the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, and a tribute to our veterans with Tora Tora Tora who will re-enact the bombing of Pearl Harbor with more than 9 Japanese Zero’s and pyrotechnics. Undoubtedly the most sought after aerial performers in the world, the United States Air Force Thunderbirds will leave you breathless as six F-16 military jet aircraft take to the sky and perform their highly skilled maneuvers only inches apart. The United States Army Special Operations Parachute Team will make their first ever visit to Minnesota. The Black Daggers are the best of the best and have won numerous awards throughout the world. There will also be plenty of entertainment as well as hands-on exhibits and displays. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) will once again host the largest display of NASA artifacts in Minnesota including rides, exhibits, fun activities and a collection of space artifacts.

Gates open each day at 9:00 a.m. and close at 6:00 p.m. For all the information on the Duluth Air Show go to www.duluthairshow.com.
