Guests love Firelight Inn Bed and Breakfast Glycerine Soap Bundles

One of the fine amenities that guests at The Firelight Inn Bed and Breakfast enjoy is glycerine soap during their stay at the Duluth MN Inn. Today we are bundling more bars of soap for our gift shop at the Inn and for our online gift store. Just today a guest placed an online order for four bundles to be mailed to their home.

These pure and gentle glycerine soaps are formulated for mildness. They have a lower pH (8.0 to 8.5) than most hard milled soaps and they will not upset the skin’s natural pH balance. The bars are completely vegetable based (no animal fats) and they cleanse without leaving a tight, dry feeling. They are hypo-allergenic and moisturizing and are formulated with healthy skin in mind.

Some of the colors and scents are English Lavender/Lavender, Passion Fruit/Natural, Mountain Rain/Aqua, Tropical Mist/Caribbean Blue, Cucumber/Green, Wineberry/Purple, Lemon Verbena/Yellow, Pomegranate/Red, Vanilla/Beige Blush and Green Apple/Light Green. Fullers’ Soaps has supplied The Firelight Inn with custom labeled glycerine soap since we opened the Inn in 1998.

Getaway with the one you love to The Firelight Inn for your romantic getaway, birthday celebration, anniversary weekend or vacation and enjoy this luxurious amenity. Shop at our online gift store for glycerine soap and more of the fine amenities guests enjoy at The Firelight Inn.

King and Queen of Norway to Visit Duluth MN

King Harald V of Norway and Queen Sonja intend to visit Duluth MN on October 17, 2011 for the rededication of the Enger Tower. The tower was originally dedicated in 1939 by his father, then-Crown Prince Olav.

Enger Tower is named for Bert Enger, a native of Norway who immigrated to Duluth and made a fortune selling furniture. The location of Enger Tower is 16th Avenue West and Skyline Parkway in Duluth Minnesota. It cost $30,000 to build and is 70 feet tall and six stories high. On a clear day visitors can see 31.4 miles from the top of the tower.

We don’t know if the King and Queen will stay at The Firelight Inn Duluth MN Bed and Breakfast but you can feel like a King and Queen when you stay with us on your next trip to Duluth!

Firelight Inn Innkeepers Hit North Shore Snowmobile Trail

Innkeepers of The Firelight Inn Duluth MN Bed and Breakfast took a break from innkeeping on Wednesday afternoon and rode their snowmobiles on the North Shore Trail. It only took about fifteen minutes to get to the parking lot on the Martin Road and another fifteen minutes to get the snowmobiles off the trailer and on to the freshly groomed trail.

We headed North on the trail towards Two Harbors for about 18 miles and then turned on the Pequayan Trail towards one of our favorite stops–The Pequayan Inn. About half way there the snow laden evergreen trees looked like they had been frosted by a professional baker!

We enjoyed a delicious lunch of hot chocolate, burgers and fries and Jim had the opportunity to chat with some fellow riders from the Twin Cities who needed directions. They chatted about the trails, where they all grew up and Jim had an opportunity to talk about The Firelight Inn.

We headed back down the trail and we encountered a dog musher and his team who were practicing for the upcoming John Beargrease Sled Dog race. He waved us by and we slowly passed the dog team admiring their focus and determination. Oh how I wish my camera would have taken that shot!

As the afternoon slipped away and beginning of darkness appeared we saw bunnies crossing the trail as if they were being chased! We didn’t slow down to wait for their predator! The ride back was awesome and through Jim’s communication helmet he could hear Joy exclaiming “Wee, wee, wee” all the way home!

It’s a wonderful time of the year–the “quiet season” to enjoy Duluth and The Firelight Inn on Oregon Creek. Bring your snowmobiles and we’ll go for a ride together!

Amazing Guests at The Firelight Inn Duluth MN Bed and Breakfast

The best thing about our jobs as Innkeepers of The Firelight Inn Duluth MN Bed and Breakfast is meeting amazing people from all over the world. Just last week, we hosted guests from Tanzania, East Africa. Guests this past weekend tried The Firelight Inn for their first bed and breakfast experience and, of course, returning guests were a part of our weekend too.
Phil and Vonna were guests of ours this last weekend and they stayed in our Isle Royale Suite traveling from Savage, Minnesota. They had a great time on the Timber Twister at Spirit Mountain on Saturday and even took a video of their ride down the hill. They enjoyed snowshoeing at Hartley Park and then returned for a warm bubble bath in the jacuzzi across from the fireplace in the Isle Royale Suite.

Upon checking out, Vonna expressed what a good time they had and how grateful she was to be with us since only a few years ago she was suffering from Multiple Sclerosis and was confined to a wheelchair. She went on to tell us about God healing her from her sickness and restoring her body. She now works as a Christian Family Counselor. The have a website walamn.com where they tell the story of his illness and her restoration. We are blessed to have met these folks and look forward to meeting and greeting more people who share their life with us.

Many of our guests know the little sign that is under each bed. Today as I was cleaning the Isle Royale Suite a little sign was sitting right next to ours. Thanks Vonna and Phil–you made my day!

This weekend we are treating guests to a Chicken Wild Rice soup supper with fresh bread on the evening they arrive and champagne and chocolates on the second evening. We still have a couple suites left so make your plans to be with us January 14-15-16, 2011.
