Photos of the New Barnum Suite at The Firelight Inn Duluth Bed and Breakfast

We are quite sure Mr. Barnum would approve of the recent renovation of his master bedroom at The Firelight Inn on Oregon Creek Bed and Breakfast. The massive king-size cherry canopy bed is graced with a beautiful gold and brown coverlet, a new gold love seat, delicate brown and golden curtains and a deep chocolate brown carpet and linens. Enjoy the photos!

From the front windows, you can view Lake Superior and the sunrise in the morning. You can enjoy the sound of Oregon creek when the porch door is open to the outdoor deck. You can relax in bed or on the love seat and watch your favorite movie or television show. And, of course, your breakfast is delivered to the Barnum Suite each morning.

This suite has been most popular for honeymoon and anniversary stays and we’re confident you will enjoy your stay here for any reason. We can’t wait to meet the guests who will checking in shortly for their long-weekend stay in the Barnum Suite and hear what they think!

We’ll be launching a new website soon with all new photography and a new layout of all our recent renovations so check back and we hope to greet you soon at The Firelight Inn on Oregon Creek Bed and Breakfast in Duluth Minnesota.

News from The Firelight Inn Duluth Bed and Breakfast

Innkeeper Jim is a proud Grandfather today in Duluth as his daughter Angie gave birth to Benjamin William last night! Mom, Dad and baby boy are doing well as they get to know one another. Ben weighed in at 8 pounds as he entered the world in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Jim has already picked out Ben’s first fishing pole and plans to teach him to catch the big bass like Grampa! We’re looking forward to travel soon to meet our Grandson and visit with the new family.

The Magical Celebration Package at The Firelight Inn Duluth Bed and Breakfast

We prepared a Celebration Package for the couple checking into our Northwoods Suite last Friday. Chilled champagne with two souvenir champagne flutes and a fruit, cheese and cracker platter were awaiting the couple who arrived from Mankato for a weekend getaway at The Firelight Inn Duluth Bed and Breakfast. We want to share the latest news from the Northwoods Suite guest journal.

“*The Weekend of March 2-4th 2012*

Jim and Joy,

Thank you so much for everything. My boyfriend booked this weekend at The Firelight Inn because he knew I wanted to have a relaxing weekend together away from the hussle and bussle of school (for me) and work. We had been looking forward to the weekend away for months. This place could not be more perfect for the two of us. The Northwoods Suite is exactly what the two of us love about MN…the Outdoors/Up North feel.

I am very happy to announce that we are now ENGAGED! The Firelight Inn and Northwoods Suite will forever be our special place. He completely got me and I am still so shocked but we are both extremely happy. He ordered your “Celebration Package” and used this as his decoy. He asked me to take a look at it (because naturally I was so excited looking at everything and settling in for the weekend). He said, “I ordered this for us because we are celebrating. I love you and I want to marry you.” He got down on his knee and said ‘will you marry me?’ while pulling out the most beautiful ring from his pocket! After a moment or two of screaming and jumping around (while saying are you serious over and over) I said YES, OF COURSE!

This is everything we could hope for and more. We are so excited that this wonderful, relaxing, peaceful, historical and exquisite bed and breakfast has been a part of our next chapter together. We will definitely be coming back sooner than later and recommending to others.

THANKS AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING!

N&J, Mankato, MN (the newly engaged love-birds)

P.S. Breakfast was amazing! We also highly recommend the massages…great job Lynn!”

So there you have it–order a celebration package with your next stay at The Firelight Inn Bed and Breakfast and let the magic begin! Congratulations to the special couple on their upcoming marriage!
