If you haven’t made plans to get to Duluth yet this summer, we have a few new reasons that you should be planning your trip soon. The Firelight Inn on Oregon Creek Bed and Breakfast is now a contributor to the Go Trippin web site that is feeding the “Field Trip” App on Iphones and Androids. It’s a great tool to use when traveling and lots of fun too. We have been out and about researching the latest attractions, restaurants, museums, activities and happenings in and around Duluth Minnesota and we’re happy to share them with everyone.
If you want to experience Lake Superior at its best, reserve your spot with Moon Shadow Sailing. Their sailing vessels are docked at Minnesota Slip 1 in Canal Park — Latitude/Longitude: 46.782063, -92.096436 – and they offer day and evening sails in the big lake!
Joy and her friend Patty spent an evening at Tycoons Alehouse and Eatery catching up and enjoying a yummy dinner there. Northwoods Maple Salad with dried cranberry and candied walnuts and bleu cheese was delicious with warm pita bread. The building is Duluth’s first city hall built in the 1899 and now a great place to enjoy great food and drinks.
We recently dined with friends at the New Scenic Café and it is always a great atmosphere and a dining pleasure. After exploring their extensive gardens, we enjoyed beet salad, beef tenderloin, and crème brulee and great wine. Our friends ate the perfectly fish tacos, pork tenderloin and peach raspberry pie with ice cream and coffee!
If you want to explore Duluth in a very unique way, you can reserve your spot on a Segway from Duluth Glides. After a little training and orientation you can take to the Lakewalk via the Rose Garden and enjoy all the sights! For more information go to www.duluthglides.com.
The city of Duluth is gearing up for the Tall Ships to arrive on July 24th. We are looking forward to seeing the Parade of Sails when all the tail ships and lots of smaller sailboats and pleasure boats will be welcoming these wonderful ships into the Duluth harbor. We still have a few spots open for lodging for this one-of-a-kind event–give us a call 218.724.0272.
Our sixteenth year as Owners/Innkeepers of The Firelight Inn on Oregon Creek Bed and Breakfast began in June and we are thankful for the guests that we greet each and every day at our historic home. We so enjoy catching up with returning guests and meeting all our first time guests too. Many choose our Inn for their first bed and breakfast experience and become B&B fans. We truly love our job and we hope to see you soon at our Duluth bed and breakfast.
