Duluth’s newest and finest restaurant is just moments from The Firelight Inn on Oregon Creek Bed and Breakfast. Just a couple blocks from our Inn on Woodland Avenue, this new restaurant is more than just a business–the owners want it to be a place to connect to Duluth’s roots while enjoying a great meal. They believe that is how long-lasting relationships are built and we agree!
Tavern on the Hill just opened this past week and is a part of the new Bluestone Development by the University of Minnesota Duluth. First of all, the building is absolutely beautiful. From the copper sign to the stone work and the outdoor deck, it is a sight to behold. Knowing the owners have developed Blackwoods on the Lake to be one of Duluth’s finest eating establishments, we are quite sure Tavern on the Hill be quite a hit with locals and tourists. We stopped in just the other day to get a menu and take some pictures and found the staff very welcoming and they showed a great sense of hospitality.
The menu is extensive featuring signature dishes, gluten-free and vegetarian options and natural refreshments. The starters and street tacos sound yummy. Salads, pasta bowls, Paninis, sandwiches and sushi and burgers are abundant. The Neopolitan-style pizza will be very authentic. Dinners are accompanied with a starch choice and the farm-picked vegetable sides won’t disappoint. Desserts will speak for themselves!
Inside the front door is a marketplace where you can pick up food or you can order food online and pick it up curbside-to-go.
