Tycoons Zenith Alehouse
132 East Superior Street in the old Duluth Hall Building.  This new restaurant offers burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads and vegetarian meals saluting Duluth’s founding fathers.  The basement bar has the feel of an old-time Speakeasy similar to those in Chicago and other big cities from back in the gangster era.  Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. with bar open until 2 a.m.  Cover charge on Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays when local and regional bands perform. Amazing Grace Bakery & Cafe
394 Lake Avenue South in Canal Park. Enjoy the best sandwiches in town, soup, ice cream, cookies, bread and coffee.  Live music most nights.  FYI: Joy went to grade school, junior high and high school with the owner Marcie!  (218) 723-0075.

Burrito Union
The place in town to get one and one/half pound delicious burritos. Great Brewhouse beer. They are located at 1332 East 4th Street and just a quick trip from The Firelight Inn.

1902 East 8th Street. This restaurant offers local produce and grass-fed, free range chicken and beef.  A local and college hangout for breakfast and lunch with evening upscale dining. (218) 724-6811

Bellisio’s Italian Restaurant
405 Lake Avenue South. This restaurant has won a Wine Spectator award for delicious Italian Cuisine.  It’s located in Canal Park and offers outdoor seating in the summer season. (218) 727-4921

301 East Superior Street.  This upscale restaurant is on the street level of the Sheraton Hotel and offers an intimate locally-inspired cuisine.  (218) 336-2705

Black Woods Grill & Bar On the Lake
2525 London Road in Duluth.  Just minutes from The Firelight Inn, this restaurant offers a variety of freshly prepared items from pasta to steak, ribs, seafood, chicken and more and includes gluten-free and vegetarian menus.  (218) 724-1612

Zeitgeist Arts Cafe
222 East Superior Street.  American cuisine features daily specials, awesome food and you can catch a movie or theatre performance after dinner.  A great place to stop for drinks and appetizers.  (218) 723-9100

The Shack Smokehouse & Grille
3301 Belknap Street in Superior, Wisconsin.  The Shack offers a comedy club with national acts.  It has an old supper club feel with great food and delicious prime rib.

New Scenic Café
5461 North Shore Drive is about a 20-25 minute drive from the inn.  This restaurant focuses on organic and local food and offers a variety of fish, meat and vegetarian offerings.  They have a beautiful flower and herb gardens in front of the building and is just “across the road” from Lake Superior.  (218) 525-6274

Hanabi Japanese Cuisine

Va Bene Berarducci’s Cafe
734 East Superior Street.  This little café has a porch that overlooks Lake Superior and features fresh Italian food prepared with quality ingredients.  A casual atmosphere to dine in or take out.  (218) 722-1518

The Duluth Grill
118 South 27th Avenue West.  This restaurant is open every day and was featured on the Food Network’s “Guy’s Diners, Drive-ins and Dives”.  Their banana cream pie is incredible!  (218) 726-1150

Texas Roadhouse

Located in the Fitger’s Brewery Complex on Superior Street. (The space formerly occupied by Bennett’s on the Lake).  Dinner theatre shows throughout the year.

JJ Astor Restaurant
505 West Superior Street, floor 16 atop the Radisson Hotel in Downtown Duluth.  This restaurant was named after John Jacob Astor the late 19th century owner of The American Fur Company.  Fresh catch of the day special along with a contemporary menu and a great view!  (218) 727-8981
