Sugar Cookie Recipe from The Firelight Inn on Oregon Creek B&B

My Mother used to make these cookies all the time and bring them to the house to share with the kids and their friends.  God bless her and her loving kindness.  I share this recipe in her honor.

1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup salad oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. Vanilla
5 cups flour
1 tsp. Salt
1 tsp. Baking Soda
1 tsp. Cream of Tarter

Mix dry ingredients and set aside.

Beat sugars, butter, oil, eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients until well blended.

Roll in balls, then roll in colored sugar.

Flatten with a cookie stamp or bottom of glass.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 10 minutes.

Makes 4 ½ dozen.

I hope you are reading this recipe before mixing it up because here’s a little hint:  I add an extra egg and the cookies are soft and chewy.
