We took advantage of Eat Downtown Duluth Week last evening and enjoyed a delicious dinner at the Restaurant 301 at the Sheraton Duluth Hotel. After being seated at a white linen covered table near the extensive wine cabinet and the window looking out upon Superior Street on a beautiful spring evening we enjoyed a glass of white zinfandel and Moscato to begin our dining experience.
The $20 dinner special to encourage dining downtown Duluth started with a Sautéed Chorizo and Mizuna Salad with Fried Capers, Tarragon and a Soft Poached Egg. Warm baguettes with Balsamic butter were a perfect compliment with the yummy salad.
For his entrée, Innkeeper Jim choose the Slow Roasted Short Ribs with Parsnip Puree, Tricolor Carrots, Pearl Onions and Fried Parsley which was tender and cooked to perfection.
Innkeeper Joy choose Scottish Salmon with a Morel Mushroom Butter Cream, Creamed Spinach, Bacon and Truffle Potato Hash for her entrée and loved every bite of her meal!
The special dinner ended with Ginger Carrot Cake with a Cinnamon Maple Butter Cream and Strawberry Shortcake with Orange Whip Crème and Chocolate Balsamic Drizzle with coffee and cream.
