Chocolate Chai Latte Cookie Recipe

national bed and breakfast marketing company asked us to submit a favorite Christmas cookie recipe for a travel article that is being prepared.  We decided to submit our recipe for Chocolate Chai Latte Cookies.  They look beautiful on a platter and they taste delicious.  They are easy to prepare and we’re sure we will be making plenty of these cookies for this holiday season at our historic Inn.

Chocolate Chai Latte Cookies

Cookie:
1 package chocolate cake mix (we used Betty Crocker butter recipe)
3 tablespoons instant chai tea latte mix
1/2 cup butter, softened
2 eggs
3 tablespoons milk
1 cup chocolate chips

Frosting:
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
3 to 5 teaspoons water

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Combine all cookie ingredients except chocolate chips in a large bowl.  Beat a medium speed until well mixed and smooth.  Stir in chocolate chips.  Drop 3/4 inch balls onto ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart.  Bake for 9 to 10 minutes or until tops are set and cracked.  Cool for 2 minutes and then remove from cookie sheet.  Cool completely.  Combine all frosting ingredients in small bowl.  Add enough water for desired frosting consistency.  Frost cooled cookies.  Enjoy!  Makes 3 dozen cookies.
